President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the wonderful work of our PPO forces during New Year's night and about the wish for victory that echoes around the world.

"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!

New year, new day, new conclusions. 45 "Shaheds" were shot down in the first night of the year.

Thank you to our air forces — pilots, anti-aircraft artillerymen. 33 "Shaheds" are on their account. Thank you to the anti-aircraft defense of our ground troops for another 12 shot-down Iranian drones. Just great work, guys!

Russian terrorists have remained despicable this year as well. Our defenders showed themselves very well indeed on January 1st.

You know, these days it was most visible how far we've come, mentally, simply humanly, from what Russia is all about. Our sense of unity, truth, life — everything contrasts sharply with the fear that reigns in Russia.

They are afraid. You can feel it. And rightly so. Because they are losing. Drones, rockets, nothing will help them. For we are together. And they are only together with their fear.

And no year will they take from Ukraine, they won't take our independence. We'll give them nothing.

I thank everyone who hit the enemy on the frontlines this night and every day! For every Russian strike on Kherson, Nikopol, in Kharkiv region, in all of our cities and communities we respond to occupiers. It's very painful for them.

I thank all our energy workers and municipal services for stable power supply and minimal outages — considering the circumstances. Everywhere where transmission lines and other energy facilities are damaged by shelling, restoration is going around the clock. Today too.

And it's very important how all Ukrainians rallied internal energy during this New Year's night.

And how we thanked our soldiers. How we thanked loved ones. And how millions of times across Ukraine and around the free world, our wish for victory has been heard and continues to be heard.
