Inclusive football sections for children have been launched in Rivne region. Oleksiy Khakhlyov, head of the regional football association, told this to Society.

Inclusive football sections were opened with the support of the Ukrainian Football Association according to UEFA's Mass Football Charter in the 21st community of Ukraine. In Rivne region, these sections are currently operating in Rivne and Ostroh, Khakhlyov said.

"The preparatory stage began back in August after trainers from inclusive football sections participated in a training seminar in Ivano-Frankivsk. The project started at the beginning of November following an organizational online meeting with its coordinators from UAF. The first classes have already taken place in Rivne," he added.

According to the project's terms, the optimal number of children per section is 16.

"The groups have already been formed. Some classes are attended by significantly more children than planned because there is a lot of interest," said Khakhlyov, head of the regional football association.

The sections are equipped with football uniforms for children, balls, and necessary sports equipment.

"The project aims to popularize football, improve the psychoemotional and physical state of children through their involvement in physical activities and socialization. It also seeks to change society's attitude towards people with disabilities, provide access to inclusive sports activities, and unite children and adults regardless of their physical or mental development," Khakhlyov added.

Inclusive sections are operating at the following addresses in Rivne region:

— Rivne, Postova St., 5, Rivne Regional Children's Sports School for People with Disabilities;

— Rivne, Dubenska St., 133, Lyceum No. 27;

— Ostroh, Vishenky St., 42, Lyceum No. 1.
