To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 31, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and fiftieth day of heroic resistance against Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on restraining the actions of defense forces at certain sectors, without ceasing offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

During the day, units of Ukraine's defense forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of Zeleno village in Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka, Mykolaivka, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region; Avdiivka, Bakhmutskoe, Veselo, Vodyane, Mayorshchyna, Mariinka, and Novobakhmutivka in Donetsk region.

The enemy continues to shell units of the defense forces along the line of contact, carries out fortification work on certain sectors, and conducts aerial reconnaissance. It strikes critical infrastructure and civilian housing, violating international humanitarian law, laws, and customs of war.

Over the past day, the enemy delivered four missile and five air strikes, carried out more than 90 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers.

Areas around over twenty populated places suffered from these attacks. Among them are Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, Severodonetsk in Donetsk region, Nova Kamianka in Kherson region, and Berizhneuvate and Ochakiv in Mykolayiv region.

On the Volynskyi and Poleskyi directions, the situation remains unchanged. The Republic of Belarus supports Russia's military aggression against Ukrainians. Russia continues to transfer separate units into this country's territory. There is a threat of missile strikes and the use of strike UAVs from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

On other directions, the enemy carried out shelling:

on the Severnianskyi direction — with mortars and artillery in the areas of Galaganyvka village in Chernihiv region and Pokrovka village in Sumy region;

on the Slobozhanskyi direction — with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types in the areas of Hatishe, Kamyanka, Krasne, Ogireve, and Starytsia villages in Kharkiv region;

on the Kupianskyi and Lyman directions — with artillery of various types in the areas of Tabayivka and Terny villages in Kharkiv region, Grekivka, Kovalevka, Karazynivka, Makieivka, Novoyegorivka, Nevskoje, Ploschanka, and Chervonopopivka villages in Luhansk region as well as Zarichne and Yamopolivka village in Donetsk region;

on the Bakhmutskyi direction — with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types in the areas of Andriyivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoe, Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Mayorshchyna, Opytne, Severnysk, Sverdlov, Spirene, and Yakovlivka villages in Donetsk region;

on the Avdiivskyi direction — with tanks and artillery of various calibers in the areas of Avdiivka, Vodyane, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, and Perevmykivske villages in Donetsk region;

on the Novopavlivskyi and Zaporizhzhia directions — with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types in the areas of Vremyivka, Vuhledar, Mikilske, Pavlivka, Paraskevivka, and Prichyste villages in Donetsk region as well as Dorozhnyanka, Maliynivka, Novodanylivka, Olhyvske, and Pavlivka village in Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Southern Buzhskyi direction, areas around nearly twenty populated places along the line of contact suffered from artillery fire. Among them are Bilohirka, Davydov Brid, Miren, Nova Kamianka, Pravdine and Chervone in Kherson region as well as Kyselivka and Ternevy Podi in Mykolayiv region.

On temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, occupiers continue dismantling and removing equipment from satellite communication masts in Donetsk region to restore and expand coverage for so-called national telecom operators.

Preparations are ongoing for the evacuation of certain units and military equipment of the enemy from the right-bank part of Kherson region. For this, the availability of river fleet vessels is being verified, pontoon bridges are being established, and barges undergo periodic checks for readiness and functionality. Two of them were successfully destroyed by units of Ukraine's defense forces in the area of Antonivskyi bridge.

According to updated information, casualties among enemy troops and equipment have been confirmed over recent days. Thus, in Kherson region, a column of enemy military equipment was destroyed, while in Zaporizhzhia — an ammunition depot was destroyed along with five units of armaments and military equipment of various types, injuring up to 120 servicemen.

Air force of the defense forces carried out 21 strikes against the enemy over the day, including: 15 — in areas where weapons and military equipment are concentrated, two — on battalion strongholds, as well as four — on positions of the enemy's air defense systems. On various directions, our units of air defense shot down one helicopter and one Su-25 attack aircraft.

Units of rocket forces and artillery over the past day damaged a command post and a surface-to-air missile system.
