In the next round, several rivals who actually have a chance of making it to their group's final quartets will face each other in knockout matches.

The final score of the match in Zhytomyr (group «A») should not be misleading. Players from «Epitsentr» put up a strong resistance, but unlike their hosts, they failed to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities. «Polesia», however, did not forgive the visitors' mistakes in defense, winning with a score of 3:0 — mainly thanks to Philip Budkivskyi's brace, which firmly establishes him as the top scorer.
The main competitor of «Polesia», «Karpaty», hosted their neighbors from Ternopil. Galicians have disappointed more often in recent matches, with coordination disappearing and opponents preparing to play them with open defenses. This is exactly what the players from «Niva» should blame themselves for — they failed to upset Lviv's goalkeeper Roman Liopka. He made mistakes again, but Roman Volohaty and Ihor Hatala missed from close range.
And the last word indeed remained with «Karpaty», whose coach Andriy Tlumak guessed correctly with his substitutions. In the second minute of added time, grenadier Dmytro Makhnev joined the attack and scored the winning goal — 1:0.
In group «B», attention was focused on the match in Cherkasy between «LNZ» and Zaporizhzhia's «Metallurg». Here, credit must be given to Oleksandr Kovpak, the acting head coach of Cherkasy, who brought Vladyslav Khamelevyk and Maxim Tyapkyn onto the field at the right time. In the third minute of added time, they played a combination that Ivan Tischenko finished with an accurate shot — 1:0.
And today's ninth round concluded with a match between «Poltava» and «Obolon». «Cityans» won in extra time — 2:1, and the «brewers» had to bid farewell to their status as sole leaders.
