By the draw, Ukraine's youth national team qualified for Group B of the Euro 2023 (U-21) finals, where they will play against the tournament hosts Romania, as well as Spain and Croatia.

The players under coach Ruslan Rotan shared their thoughts about their group stage opponents with the official website of the UAF.

“I am sure that we do not need to focus on the names of our opponents. Yes, Spain is always a top-tier team, Romania hosts the Euro finals, and Croatia has always produced excellent players from their football school. Therefore, every match in the group stage will be like a final for us.”

“I believe that the draw turned out to be positive for the Ukrainian team in terms of reaching the quarter-finals. Knowing our team and coaching staff, I think they will set a goal to accumulate seven points in the group stage. We are already starting tactical preparation for our opponents through video analysis now. I am confident that at Euro we will give Ukrainians many positive emotions. And by then, we will have defeated the Russians and be living in a free and democratic country.”
