President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the atmosphere of hopelessness in Russia and the restoration work following a recent series of terrorist attacks by occupiers.

"Great people of a great country!

This day passes - October 14th, our holiday. The holiday of all defenders and defenderesses of Ukraine, the Protection Day, Cossack Day. 233rd day of our full-scale defense in the war for freedom for Ukraine.

I want to thank now everyone among us who today greeted each other, who celebrated with our military, all of our warriors.

I want to thank those who continued working today for our strength and yours.

I want to thank everyone who spent this day in battle and on guard duty. In Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, in Zaporizhzhia region, in Dnipropetrovsk region, in Donbas, in Kharkiv region. In Odesa region and in the center of our country, in the north and west - in all our regions. Along the entire state border.

I thank everyone who guards our sky, our sea, and our cyber space.

And separately I want to thank everyone who today quietly, silently, only in their hearts but still together with all of our country celebrated Defender's Day while being on temporarily occupied territory or - forcibly - on Russian territory. Ukraine remembers everyone. We will not leave anything Ukrainian to the enemy. We will liberate everything that belongs to us by right.

We know with you that we can do this. And we must do it. It is absolutely necessary. We have to return peace. And we will do it. We have to ensure our country's historical victory. And it will be.

Look at how worried the enemy is. Listen to what and how they ask their leader when he still appears before people, journalists. Russia is already in an atmosphere of defeat, already in an atmosphere of hopelessness for itself.

Yes, they still have people whom they throw into attacks. They still have weapons, rockets and "Shahids" which they use against Ukraine. They still have the possibility to terrorize our cities and all Europeans, to blackmail the world. But they don't have a chance. And won't have one. Because Ukraine is moving forward.

Today I had the honor of presenting "Battle Merit Crosses" and Orders of "Golden Star" to our heroes. In total, 483 fighters were honored with state awards on this holiday. 15 were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.

Visited wounded soldiers in hospital. Thanked doctors and nurses for their work - great professional work.

Held a Supreme Commander's Headquarters meeting. Discussed the situation on the front, enemy actions and our steps to liberate Ukrainian territory. Plus - ammunition supply, winter preparations. The meeting was very substantive.

Restoration work is ongoing in regions following a recent series of Russian terrorist attacks. In most regions, technical capability for electricity supply has already been restored. Although some cities and districts are still forced to use stabilization disconnection schedules.

15 objects that Russian terrorists wanted to destroy have already been fully restored. We will restore all others as well.

I draw your attention, dear Ukrainians: please continue consciously limiting electricity consumption during peak hours so that the entire energy system operates stably. This is also an element of protecting our state.

Spoke with the friend of all Ukraine - President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda. About our defense needs and further Euro-Atlantic integration.

Also held a meeting on the status of our country's Euro-Atlantic movement and security guarantees for Ukraine. The government, Verkhovna Rada, Office - all are involved.

Spoke today with the heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia as well. Discussed our possibilities to act together in the interests of our countries and peoples. I believe that necessary results - are possible.
