President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about restoration work across the country and the need for rational electricity consumption.

"Dear Ukrainian people!

Another day of our defense. A difficult day.

Restoration work is ongoing throughout the country. All objects that were damaged by today's terrorist attack will be restored. This is just a matter of time. I have tasked all state structures to work efficiently so that restoration can be as quick as possible.

In parts of cities and regions where electricity supply was cut off due to shelling, power has already been restored.

As of now: Kharkiv region — 50% of energy supply has been restored. It will take a few hours for the energy workers to restore electricity in most areas.

Poltava region — almost everywhere is connected. Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa regions — connected. Chernihiv — there is power. Khmelnytskyi — in most of the city, there is light.

In some cities and areas, more work needs to be done to provide people with electricity. Chernihiv region, Sumy region, Kyiv and Kyiv region, Lviv region, Ternopil region, Dnipropetrovsk region — working on it. Some places will take hours, others a bit longer, but the result will come everywhere.

Unfortunately, 12 people died today due to this terrorist attack. Over 80 were injured or wounded. Everyone who sought help received it.

Ukrainian Armed Forces, intelligence services, Security Service of Ukraine and all those involved in defending our country are also fulfilling their duties.

Of the 84 Russian missiles launched against Ukraine, 43 were shot down. Of the 24 Russian drones, 13 were destroyed. And even after this, every ten minutes I receive notifications about the destruction of Iranian «Shahids».

Only in the last hours...

16:28 — «Shahid» destroyed, Lyta district.

17:26 — Kremenchuk, «Shahid» destroyed.

17:36 — Chernihiv, «Shahid» destroyed.

17:40 — Dovzhynske, Kryvyi Rih, «Shahid» destroyed.

17:50 — Apostolove, «Shahid» destroyed.

And so throughout the day. Right now, as I speak, I am still receiving these notifications. So please adhere to safety rules and be mindful of air raids. The danger is still there. But we are fighting back.

I thank our Air Force and ground troops units that were involved today!

Terrorists' leaders say they hit all their targets as planned.

Firstly, they lie, as always.

Secondly, they lie, as always. Look at their actual targets, besides energy facilities. Just look at one example from our capital...

The intersection in Kyiv where I stand now. The intersection of Volodymyrska Street and Shevchenko Boulevard. This is the target.

Seven hundred meters away — St. Sophia Cathedral's bell tower. Moscow didn't exist when it was already standing there.

A bit further — Volodymyrska Hill, a place that became the source of Christianity and culture for Eastern Europe. Particularly for what later became known as Russia.

Next to me — Shevchenko University's buildings, which will soon celebrate 190 years. They were damaged by this Russian strike today. But we will restore everything.

The House of Teachers was also hit today. Once it housed the Ukrainian Central Rada and will always be a place of memory for our great state-building history.

And right behind me — a children's playground in Shevchenko Park, which became a target for Russian missiles too. But it is not just any playground in Shevchenko Park. It is on one of Kyiv's main museum streets. Specifically, the strike damaged the Hahnенко Art Museum.

And so across all our cities — civilian, cultural, educational facilities. Who can fight against this? Who can be happy about such strikes and such land?

They say they want to push Ukraine back into the 18th century. But they themselves have regressed to a much earlier time, that of barbarians, which they became fully aware of.

And Ukraine will still remain in the 21st century.

Kyiv has seen many foreign invaders. And survived them all. Kyiv will survive this onslaught by terrorists who have no history, no tradition, no culture. They are temporary. And even if they live for 70 years, they won't understand anything.

Ukraine cannot be intimidated. Only more united. Ukraine cannot be stopped. Only more convinced that terrorists must be neutralized.

The Russian army deliberately launched these strikes in the early morning rush hour, a typical tactic of terrorists. They wanted to instill more fear and hit more people. They did hit. They hit the whole world.

Today I spoke with the Chancellor of Germany, President of France, Emir of Qatar, President of Poland, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, British Prime Minister, and UN Secretary-General.

I met with the US Ambassador. Scheduled meetings today include talks with the Canadian Prime Minister and the President of the United States. Tomorrow — Italian Prime Minister.

Thank you all for your clear support!

We are consolidating the world. And I feel that the world is with us. An emergency G7 meeting has already been scheduled for tomorrow. We are working on a resolution for the UN General Assembly condemning Russia for its escalations and terrorism. Terrorism will inevitably receive a global response, and the openness of Russian terror only spurs everyone to greater resolve.

Regarding energy. We will do everything to restore normal production and supply of electricity. We need electricity in every home regardless of any manifestations of Russian terror. We need our residential buildings supplied with energy across all regions.

Therefore, we now need rational electricity consumption. There are peak load hours on the power system — from 5 PM to 10 PM. I kindly ask you, please, during these times consume electricity in a way that does not overload the power system. Please move laundry, ironing, repairs and other high-energy-consuming appliances to before 5 PM or after 10 PM. A great request.

The more Ukrainians consume electricity exactly as requested, the more stable our power system will work.

We are doing everything to get modern PPO [Power Plant Operation]. And I thank partners who have already accelerated supplies.

We are doing everything to strengthen our armed forces. And now occupiers cannot oppose us on the battlefield, so they resort to this terror. Well, let's make the battlefield even more painful for the enemy. And we will restore all that was destroyed.

Please help each other! Please take care of those who are alone in such circumstances! Believe in yourselves, Ukraine, Ukrainian Armed Forces and our victory!

Glory to Ukraine!»
