Euro 2023 (U-21). Today — the draw for the final tournament: Ukraine is in the fourth pot

The Ukrainian national youth team will learn the names of their opponents in the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-21) today, October 18, during the draw in Bucharest. The procedure for drawing the final part of the 2023 European Championship (U-21) will take place in the capital of Romania — Bucharest (start at 7:00 PM Kyiv time).

The Ukrainian youth team will learn the names of their opponents in the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-21) today, October 18, during the draw ceremony in Bucharest.

The procedure for drawing the final stage of the European Championship 2023 (U-21) will take place in the capital of Romania — Bucharest (start at 7:00 PM Kyiv time).

A total of sixteen teams will participate, along with the two hosts, Georgia and Romania. Teams are divided into four pots according to their UEFA (U-21) ranking. Coach Rostan's wards have landed in Pot 4. Additionally, for the purpose of optimizing match schedules, the host associations were given positions A1 and B1 respectively.

Pot Composition

Pot 1: Spain (41,837), Portugal (40,130), Germany (39,668), France (37,887).

Pot 2: Netherlands (36,626), England (35,798), Italy (35,244), Romania (32,414).

Pot 3: Croatia (31,945), Switzerland (31,744), Belgium (31,550), Czech Republic (30,455).

Pot 4: Ukraine (29,362), Norway (27,872), Israel (25,732), Georgia (24,442).

Through the draw process (from Pot 4 to Pot 1) UEFA will distribute teams that have qualified for the final tournament into four groups of four each. After the group stage, two strongest teams from each quartet advance to the quarter-finals. 

The final tournament of Euro-2023 (U-21) will take place from June 21 to July 8, 2023.

Matches involving sixteen national teams will be held on four stadiums in Romania (two — in Cluj-Napoca and two — in Bucharest) and four in Georgia (in Batumi, Poti and two — in Tbilisi). The opening match will take place in Romania, while the final will be played in Georgia.

The three best teams of Euro-2023 (excluding France and England) will receive spots at the 2024 Olympics.
