In the final round of the 2022/2023 Nations League, blue-and-yellow failed to defeat Scotland (0:0) and thus remained in Division B. According to fan voting, left-back Mykhailo Mudryk was named man of the match and commented on the game.
"There were moments when the ball didn't fly, there were amazing saves, times when we just couldn't score. I don't know, sometimes it's hard to comment on such episodes. When the ball flies into the 'nine', and the goalkeeper blocks it... How can you describe that? When a cross is made, and the ball gets cut off from the foot... Such moments happen. I believe our team outperformed the opponent in all components, but a small bit of bad luck prevented us from winning.
I'll be honest, with such support from fans, it's impossible to play poorly. After the game, we made a circle, and I approached the stands again to applaud them. It's great when people don't just come to watch football but cheer for it. I saw in our supporters' eyes how they were burning with passion for our play, our result. That's worth a lot. A huge thank you to our fans, it was really nice.
Today we lacked something slightly, but next time we can add that little bit. We need to become better and not stop at what we've achieved. If we improve, the results will also get better. So we're striving for this," — said Mykhailo Mudryk.
