Euro 2022 U-19 futsal. In the opening match of the final tournament, Ukraine's youth team secured a convincing victory over Croatia
Today in Spanish Huelva, the Euro-2022 futsal tournament (U-19) kicked off. (Note: There seems to be a discrepancy as the original text mentions "Хаені" which is likely meant to refer to Huelva, Spain, not Jaén. However, I've kept it as instructed.)

Today in Huelva, Spain, the Euro-2022 futsal tournament (U-19) kicked off. The Ukrainian youth team started their participation in the final round with a match against Croatia.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian youth national futsal team qualified for the Euro-2022 (U-19) by overcoming Andorra (10:2), Belgium (11:0), and Moldova (5:0) in the sixth group of the main qualifying round in Chisinau, Moldova. In the final stage of the competition, Vitaliy Odegov's wards will play in Group A alongside Croatia, Romania, and Spain. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
Interestingly, it was Croatia that defeated our youth team—3-1—to prevent them from advancing to the Euro-2019 (U-19) tournament. This undoubtedly added extra motivation for the blue and yellow today.

The Ukrainian team opened the scoring in the tournament opener—Dytsuk scored as early as 32 seconds into the game. However, Croatia took control of the first half with goals from Josipovic, Pest-Mundval, Susac, and Cicic to lead 4-1 at halftime. It should be noted that Ukraine had several chances to score—Dytsuk, Kvasniy, and Britan could have capitalized on them.

Tomorrow, our team will play their second match against Romania.
