Tuesday, the Euro 2022 futsal (U-19) tournament kicks off in Huelva, Spain. The Ukrainian youth national team will start their campaign with a match against Croatia.

Prior to the European Championship, Vitaliy Odegov's wards conducted a training camp in Uzhhorod. The blue-and-yellow team played two friendly matches against Lviv's "Energiya" — drawing in the first game and winning the second. On September 1st, the team departed for Spain.

At Euro 2022 futsal (U-19), the Ukrainian youth national team will compete in Group A, where they will face Croatia, Romania, and Spain. The match against the Balkan side is scheduled for today (kickoff at 14:30 Kyiv time).

"We played against the Croatian team last year during the European Championship, and we faced them twice this year at the Futsal Week tournament. Traditionally, Balkan countries have strong teams with physically imposing players. However, their opponent combines athleticism with technical skill. It's worth noting that matches against Croatia in our national team tend to be quite challenging. Overall, these are fairly technical boys who often play through 'pillars.' Also, I would like to mention that due to their size, Croatian futsal players frequently employ high-pressure defense," — shared his expectations about the game against Croatia Vitaliy Odegov.
