President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the terrorist strike by occupiers on Chaplyne village and the impossibility of erasing freedom with bombs.
"Dear Ukrainians!
It is almost midnight, our main day, Ukraine's Independence Day, is coming to an end. But our independence does not end and will never end. And there will be a 32nd Independence Day for us, a 33rd, and all subsequent ones as long as time exists on Earth. Ukraine — forever. And every day it will become stronger. And this is understood by absolutely everyone in the world — from the UN Security Council to all capitals without exception.
So we do not retreat from our path, we fight, thank everyone who supports us, take care of our country, preserve our unity — such as it is today, every day for six months. And no enemy can defeat us. There are no bombs that can erase freedom, and there will never be rockets that can break the will of a people who believe in themselves.
Chaplyne — our pain today. As of now — 22 dead, including five people who burned to death in a car, an underage boy died, he was 11 years old, a Russian rocket destroyed his house.
Search and rescue operations at the railway station will continue. We will definitely make the occupiers answer for everything they have done. And we will definitely drive out the invaders from our land. No trace of this evil will remain in our free Ukraine. We will walk our path to victory! It will be!
Eternal memory to all whose lives were taken by these occupiers, these enemies!
Glory to all our soldiers! Glory to our people!
Glory to our strong Ukrainian world, our independence, our nation!
Glory to you all!
Glory to Ukraine!"
