Euro 2022 women's futsal. The path of the Ukraine national team to the final tournament
Recalling the path of the Ukrainian women's futsal team to the 2022 European Championship, which will take place in Gondomar, Portugal, from July 1-3.

Oleg Shaitanov's wards learned their opponents in the main qualifying round of Euro 2020 at the beginning of the year. The final tournament was scheduled for 2021, but due to the pandemic, the competition was postponed by a year.
By the draw, blue-and-yellow found themselves in Group 3 of the main qualifying round, where their opponents were Finland, Czech Republic and the winner of Group C from the previous round — Belgium. In September 2021, in Lviv at the "Bosco-Arena", Ukrainians won all three matches, securing a place in the final tournament.
It should be noted that blue-and-yellow are participating on the continental stage for the second time. Our national team also took part in the inaugural European Championship in 2019, where they secured fourth place among four teams.

Recall, the final tournament of the second in history European Championship for women's futsal, which Ukraine will participate in, will take place on July 1-3 this year.
Earlier UEFA announced that the final tournament of the women's Euro-2022 futsal, which was to be held from March 25 to 27 in Portugal, has been postponed. This decision was made after consultations and obtaining consent from the football association of the host country.
Later UEFA decided on new dates for semifinals and medal matches. The games are scheduled for July 1-3. Thus, on July 1 Ukraine's national team will play in the semifinal against Spain. The venue of the final tournament has not changed — all meetings will take place in Gondomar, Portugal.
In another semifinal match, Portugal and Russia were supposed to meet. However, due to Russian military aggression in Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA excluded the national teams of Russia and clubs from all competitions under their auspices. Thus, the women's futsal team of Russia will not play in the Euro-2022 final tournament. According to UEFA's decision, Hungary, which took second place in its qualifying group, will take part in the continental competition.
