Oleh Shaitanov's wards started preparing for the final tournament as early as June 3. Since then, the Ukraine team has been training in San Marino, Italy, France, and Portugal, which will host Euro-2022.

During the preparatory camp, the blue-and-yellow team played friendly matches against the Italian national team (1:2), a second-tier Italian division representative "Banjolo" (8:1), a French league team "Nantes Métropole" (5:1) and the host of the final tournament — Portugal's national team (0:6).

As a reminder, Ukraine’s women’s national team won their group in October last year in Lviv during the main round of Euro-2022 qualification. The current European champions — Spain's national team — became the opponent for the blue-and-yellow team in the semifinals. The match will start today at 7 PM Kyiv time, and it will be broadcast live on regional platforms UA: Suspilne and YouTube channel Suspilne: Sport.

As a reminder, the final tournament of the second European Championship in women's futsal will take place from July 1-3 this year.

Earlier, UEFA announced that the final tournament of the Euro-2022 women’s futsal championship, which was scheduled to be held in Portugal from March 25-27, has been rescheduled. This decision was made after consultations and obtaining consent from the football association of the host country.

Later, UEFA announced new dates for semifinals and medal matches. The matches are scheduled for July 1-3. Thus, on July 1, Ukraine's national team will play against Spain in the semifinal. The venue of the final tournament has not changed — all meetings will take place in Gondomar, Portugal.

In another semifinal match, Portugal and Russia were supposed to meet. However, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from all competitions under their jurisdiction. As a result, the Russian women’s futsal team will not participate in Euro-2022 final tournament. According to UEFA's decision, Hungary, which secured second place in its group during the main round of qualification, will take part in the continental championship.
