After the opening match of Ukraine's U-19 national team against Norway (3:2) in the elite round of Euro 2022 qualification (U-19), head coach Volodymyr Yezersky gave a comment to the official website of the Ukrainian Football Association.

"This victory, without a doubt, our team dedicates to all Ukrainian soldiers who are fighting against Russian occupiers for our freedom," said Yezersky. "What we expected from Norway's national team came true. For us, this was a difficult game and a hard-fought win."

My players felt the lack of playing practice. But it is very important that our plan for the match worked out. The boys managed to keep up with the rhythm. But you should see how exhausted my players were after the match. Now, the most important thing for us is to recover as quickly as possible before the game against Serbia because we have a limited pool of players. Udod, Khromey, and Shostak, who sustained injuries before the first game, will not be able to recover.
