President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the people of Ukraine and the United Kingdom, expressing great gratitude to our British partners for their help during the war.

"Unbreakable people of the bravest country!

Usually I address you at this time every day. Summarizing events of the day that has passed. Yesterday, since the first day of Russia's full-scale war against our state—Ukraine.

Yesterday, I report to society about what was done for the defense of the country. About what our Armed Forces of Ukraine achieved. About how we help our people. And about international negotiations that took place.

For example, today one of the notable news is the message about our conversation with you, Boris. Every time such talks take place, it's important for my country, for Ukraine. And no less important, I'm sure, for Britain. Because this is about resilience, courage, and leadership that we demonstrate together—Ukrainian and British people—in defense of freedom, our shared freedom.

Russian troops today, as every day during this war, continued to bomb our cities and our people. For example, my traditional morning meeting with the military, with military leadership, with officials and diplomats took place under the sound of an air raid siren. That's our reality. Rocket strikes every day.

The day before yesterday—on the day you, Boris, addressed our parliament—Russian forces launched 15 rocket attacks on Ukraine. And that can be called a certain "Russian compliment" to your brilliant speech and our fruitful intergovernmental cooperation. Because yesterday there were only seven such strikes.

Clearly, Russia is irritated by our closeness—Ukraine's and Britain's. Therefore, this definitely means we are strongly defending freedom in Europe.

Overall during this war, the Russian army has already used 2014 rockets against Ukraine. There have been 2682 recorded appearances of Russian combat aircraft in our airspace. Each of these "flyovers" is a death for our people and destruction of our infrastructure.

If we take only medical infrastructure, then so far Russian troops have already destroyed or damaged almost 400 health care facilities. These are hospitals, maternity homes, outpatient clinics.

In temporarily occupied areas in Ukraine's east and south—there is a catastrophic situation with access to medical services and medicines. Even the most basic drugs are lacking.

Russia has brought such problems to Ukraine and Europe that we could not even imagine just a few months ago. This is actually complete lack of treatment for cancer patients. This is extremely complicated or completely inaccessible insulin access for diabetes patients. This is impossible to perform surgical operations... This is simply the absence of antibiotics! These are the consequences of Russian occupation for parts of our land and people we must free from oppressors.

And we will definitely do it. Thanks, in part, to your support.

Today, the rescue operation from Mariupol continues. With the help of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. People are on their way to safe territory.

Over 150 people from Azovstal and more than 300 people from Mariupol and its surroundings, who came out this week through a humanitarian corridor, are receiving all necessary assistance—medical care, document restoration, financial aid, communication with relatives and families.

Currently, Russian shelling and assault on Azovstal do not stop. But we still need to evacuate civilians—women and children—from there. Many children who remain there. Just imagine this hell! There are children there! Over two months of constant shelling, bombing, death all around...

We expect a ceasefire regime. We do everything possible to find solutions for rescuing our military as well—heroes holding Mariupol's defense against overwhelming occupiers. Different units are involved. They have many wounded. But they don't give up. They hold their positions.

We don't give up either. Every day, the entire team looks for a way to ensure safety for these people. And I am grateful to everyone who helps. To all who offered mediation and are putting in efforts to save Ukrainians.

Today, I addressed participants of the high-level donor conference that took place in Warsaw. This is also an element of our defense, an element of Europe's defense. Because not only on the battlefield decides now the fate of our country and the future of the continent. But also on the economic front, on the field of readiness for world leaders to unite to rebuild Ukraine after this war and give stability and security to Central and Eastern Europe.

We have results. It was announced that $6.5 billion were raised at this conference. And that's good. But it is only a part of what is really needed to restore normal life in all the territory where Russia brought war.

Therefore, we need a modern equivalent of the Marshall Plan for Ukraine. We need stronger involvement of free world countries and international institutions. I talked about this today at the conference.

However, we call on cooperation and support from everyone who values freedom. So today United24—a global initiative that unites people around the world to help Ukraine—was launched. And I invite you to join this initiative!

The initial component is a single platform for raising funds in support of our struggle. United24. Its main goal is to increase donations for Ukraine. Just a few clicks—and every person can join the direction they consider most relevant now and personally.

Because monthly, Ukraine needs up to $7 billion to cover the deficit of the state budget. And overall, already calculated over $600 billion are needed for reconstruction of what Russian army destroyed. Just imagine this scale!

Therefore, every act of support, every sincere help to Ukraine matters. Especially yours today.

Ladies and gentlemen!

Friends!

If everyone in the world—or even a majority—were as unbreakable, brave, and leadership-driven as Ukraine is, as Britain is, I'm sure we would already have ended this war and restored peace on all our liberated territory for all our people.

But we still have to fight. Fight. As you, Boris, said when addressing the Verkhovna Rada the day before yesterday, we are still writing one of the most victorious chapters in our history.

And now it's possible to appreciate the significance of this chapter, especially by this fact: 11,672 of our defenders and defenders have already been honored with state awards for bravery and effective defense of Ukraine. A little more than ten weeks. 11,672 people.

And just a few minutes before this address, I signed an order to honor another 286 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On the shoulders of these brave warriors and their comrades-in-arms, Ukraine is holding up now—and frankly—so is all of Europe.

And I thank you for your real support in this fight.

Bravery is rightly believed to be the first of human qualities as it guarantees all others.

Thank you, Britain!

Thank you, Boris!

Thank you all!

Glory to Ukraine!»
