Note for attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 6, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The seventieth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military aggression has begun.

The enemy continues to wage a full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.

The adversary does not cease offensive actions in the Eastern Operational Zone with the aim of establishing complete control over the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as maintaining a land corridor between these territories and occupied Crimea.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the enemy did not conduct active operations. In units of Belarusian armed forces, readiness checks for response forces are ongoing.

On the Northern Direction, signs of the formation of an offensive grouping by the adversary have not been detected. A small number of personnel, weapons, and military equipment are maintained on positions and defensive points in border areas of Ukraine within the territories of Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions.

On the Slobozhansky Direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations. Continues shelling residential quarters and suburbs of Kharkiv with multiple rocket launchers and artillery.

The enemy continues to build up air defense systems, material-technical support, and fire impact. Conducts redeployment and restoration of combat readiness of units.

At the Kupyansk City Hospital, which is occupied by the adversary, there are reportedly up to 300 wounded according to available information.

To clarify positions of our troops and directions for further advance, the enemy conducts aerial reconnaissance.

On the Donetsk and Taurian Directions, the adversary continues active combat operations.

On the Lyman Direction, the enemy conducts shelling of our troops' positions.

On the Popasna Direction, the main efforts of the adversary are focused on establishing full control over the populated area of Popasna and resuming an advance towards the populated areas of Lyman and Siversk.

In Mariupol city, the enemy continues to block units of the Defense Forces in the «Azovstal» area. In certain areas, with air support, renewed assault actions are being carried out aimed at taking control of the plant territory.

On the Severodonetsk, Avdiivka, Kurakhovo, Novopavlovsk, and Zaporizhzhia Directions, active combat operations were not conducted by the adversary. Conducts fire impact to immobilize our troops' actions and destroy artillery units.

On the South Buzhsky Direction, the enemy did not conduct active combat operations, maintained occupied lines, strengthened air defense systems and radio-electronic warfare systems. Shelled positions of our troops. In northern areas of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, the adversary conducts shelling of populated areas that it has left.

Aerial reconnaissance by the enemy was noted in the areas of populated places Oleksandrivka, Serhiivka, Volodymyrivka.

Over the previous day, units of air defense forces and ground troops shot down fifteen aerial targets: fourteen unmanned aerial vehicles of «Orlan» type and one aircraft.

In the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, defenders and defenderesses of Ukraine repelled eleven enemy attacks over the past day, destroyed eight tanks, eleven units of combat armored equipment, and five units of enemy's motorized vehicles.
