Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi made a statement regarding the current situation in our country's fight against Russian aggressors:

"The second month of Ukraine's resistance to full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation is coming to an end. Defense forces have given a dignified rebuff to the aggressor on the northern and north-eastern fronts. The territories of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions have been fully liberated. At the same time, I urge residents of these regions to be cautious as the cunning enemy has left behind many mines, traps, and booby-traps that pose a potential danger to civilian lives, especially children. Please be vigilant and report suspicious items to military command and DSNS.

We have managed to eliminate the immediate threat to Ukraine's capital city of Kyiv. However, for the entire country, there remains the risk of missile and aerial bombardments. I ask fellow citizens to comply with safety requirements during alarm signals and understand the presence of fortification structures, checkpoints, and increased security measures that occur under wartime conditions. Please also refrain from publishing in social media and media real-time information about enemy shelling consequences as well as information on objects that could become potential targets for enemy attacks.

The situation on the southern front is under control. The threat from the sea has been significantly reduced due to the sinking of the flagship of Russia's Black Sea Fleet. However, the danger of amphibious and airborne landings remains. In connection with this, measures are continuing to strengthen anti-landing defense, including through material and technical assistance from partner countries. Defense forces steadfastly protect Mykolaiv from possible enemy attempts to resume an offensive and destroy the enemy in the outskirts of Kherson. We do not give the enemy a chance to advance towards Zaporizhzhia. The heroic defense of the city-hero Mariupol is ongoing. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is using all available means to support the defenders of the city. In particular, the destruction of the landing ship 'Saratov' in Berdyansk port reduced the risk of a landing and sea-based fire strikes.

Over recent weeks, the enemy has redeployed forces and assets on the eastern front and is attempting to break through our defenses at several points, concentrating its main efforts around Izium. The military command ensures reinforcement of defense, especially with anti-tank and anti-aircraft means. Russia's 'liberator' has severely worsened the humanitarian situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Despite numerical superiority on some fronts, thanks to the skill acquired by commanders and the combat experience of our soldiers, we are managing to repel attacks, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

We maintain a fighting spirit and faith in victory!

Glory to Ukraine!"
