The UAF signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine

On April 24, the Ukrainian Association of Football and the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine signed a memorandum to cooperate in jointly supporting veterans and veteran communities through engagement in sports, particularly football.

On April 24, the Ukrainian Football Association and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine signed a memorandum to jointly support veterans and veteran communities through engagement in sports, particularly football.

The document was signed by President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Shevchenko and Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliya Kalmykova.

The memorandum, among other things, includes the following points:

— involving veterans in an active lifestyle and football, including amputee football, as a means of rehabilitation, physical and psychological recovery;

— raising awareness about the needs of war veterans and the importance of their reintegration into society;

— developing, organizing, and holding national-level sporting events and competitions for war veteran sports;

— promoting a healthy lifestyle among veterans and members of their families;

— supporting veteran football and amputee football teams at local, national, and international levels;

— creating opportunities for professional realization of war veterans in the field of sports, coaching activities, and sports management;

— strengthening cooperation between state, sports, and civic organizations to support veteran football initiatives;

— the parties cooperate on organizing football and amputee football tournaments; this year alone, the UAF plans to hold a nationwide tournament among veterans and an amputee football championship in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans.
