Serhiy Vladyko: "For the first time in UAF history, Ukraine futsal players receive an award from the association"

The President of the Futsal Association of Ukraine, Serhiy Vladyko, reflected on the triumphant performance of Ukraine’s national futsal team at the Futsal World Cup 2024 in Uzbekistan, where they secured the bronze medal.

For the first time in history, Ukraine’s futsal team earned bronze at the World Cup. After finishing second in their group, the Blue and Yellow team defeated Netherlands (3:1) in the round of 16, overcame Venezuela (9:4) in the quarterfinals, narrowly lost to Brazil (2:3) in the semifinals, and dominated France (7:1) in the third-place match.

“For the first time in UAF history, Ukrainian futsal players are receiving an award from the association, marking a collective achievement. This is the first time our team has been congratulated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasizing the significance of our work.

Behind every victory stands a team of people without whom this result would be impossible. The entire system worked as a single mechanism, highlighting the strength of our collaboration. The Minister trusts us and supports us. The UAF President trusts me, I trust the head coach, and he trusts the players, who, in turn, support him.

During the war, we played all our matches abroad, and there was no question about organization, resources, or medical support. It was complete coordination and cooperation.

But we won’t stop here. In December, we have European Championship qualifying matches, so we’ll keep moving forward and working toward new victories,” stated Serhiy Vladyko.
