Ukraine U-21 gears up in Bournemouth for EURO 2025 Qualifiers against England and Serbia
The Ukraine U-21 team will face England and Serbia in their next matches of the EURO 2025 qualifying tournament.
On Tuesday, October 8, our team arrived in the foggy Albion on flight Chișinău — London, and from the capital, they headed to their base in Bournemouth. The head coach of the Blue and Yellow team, Unai Melgosa, called up 24 players, but there was a last-minute change in the squad: instead of the defender from Rukh, Roman Didyk, who was diagnosed with a concussion, midfielder Borys Krushynskyi from Polissia flew to England.
Great Britain welcomed our delegation with windy and rainy weather. However, focused preparation for the EURO U-21 qualifying match began. The match England — Ukraine will take place in Bournemouth at the Dean Court stadium on October 11. The game will kick off at 21:45 Kyiv time.
Additionally, on October 15, the match Serbia — Ukraine will be held in Stara Pazova at the FSS Sports Center. The kickoff is set for 21:30 Kyiv time.
It’s worth noting that the Blue and Yellow team has achieved eight victories in eight matches, securing their place in the final tournament. Along with Ukraine, as of now, Netherlands and Spain have also qualified for the forum, which will take place from June 11 to 28, 2025, alongside the host country, Slovakia. Nine more participants will be determined based on the results of the October group stage matches, while three will qualify through the playoff matches from November 11 to 19. The matchups for the playoff stage will be formed on October 17. The draw for the final tournament, featuring 16 teams (four groups of four), will take place on December 3 in Bratislava.
