Eight teams participated in the competition, which were composed of veterans, individuals with disabilities resulting from war, and active military personnel.

At the ceremonial opening of the tournament, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Rusan Prykhodko addressed those present with a welcoming speech.

"We are holding matches in an extremely difficult time. The enemy is constantly attacking our country, air alarms are ringing, but despite all challenges, we continue to hold such events. And thanks to our joint efforts — organizers, participants, partners and everyone who joins us — we have the opportunity not to stop. This is not just a sports event. It's an opportunity to unite people, support our veterans, give them positive emotions, and show that Ukraine continues to live, develop, and prevail even in the most difficult times," emphasized the official.

Also addressing the audience was Vadim Hutsalyuk, Deputy Director of Kyiv City Center for Physical Culture and Sports for Persons with Disabilities "Invasport": "Such tournaments are much more than just sports. They play an important role in restoring our military personnel, helping them go through physical and psychological rehabilitation, restore their emotional state, and regain strength. Sport provides the opportunity to regain confidence in oneself, feel team spirit, support from comrades, and simply switch off for a while from what has been experienced. It is such events that help our defenders recover and return to full life."

According to the regulations, teams were divided into two groups of four each. The winners of the quartets will play in the final, second-place teams from the groups will meet for third place. Teams that finish third will play a match for fifth place, and those finishing fourth will compete for seventh position.

During the award ceremony, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Rusan Prykhodko addressed the participants: "Thank you all for today's day. We will make every effort to give you more opportunities to train, compete and engage in sports. We held this tournament despite the enemy and the conditions under which it was held. Glory to Ukraine!"

Also addressing those present was ex-Ukraine national team footballer and active serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladyslav Vasyuk: "I understand that today not everyone came for the result. Our result is mental communication with each other. Everything will be Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!"
