Ukrainian student futsal teams secure victories in opening playoff matches at World Championship in Shanghai
The World Futsal Championship for Women's and Men's Student Teams, including the Ukrainian teams, is currently held in Shanghai, China, until June 16.
The men's tournament features 14 teams, while the women's tournament has seven. Players eligible for participation must be born in 1999 or later, making the age limit 25 years.
Today, June 14, the first playoff matches took place. The Ukrainian men's team, which finished first in the group stage, faced Morocco in the quarter-finals and clinched a last-minute victory with a score of 4:3. In the women's tournament, competing for 5th to 7th places, Ukraine defeated Poland 6:2.

Men's Teams. Quarter-finals
Ukraine — Morocco — 4:3 (2:3)

The blue-yellows will play against Croatia in the semi-finals on June 15.

Play-off matches will take place on June 14-16. The top two teams from each group will advance to the men's quarterfinals and the women's semifinals.
It's worth noting that two years ago, Ukraine's men's student team won silver medals in Portugal, while the women's team finished fifth.
