Today, April 13, the blue-and-yellow team started their international tournament in Lithuania with a match against the hosts (5:2). The post-match comments by head coach of Ukraine's national team Oleksandr Kosenko are provided by the press service of the Ukrainian Futsal Association:

"Daniil Abakshin and Yurii Savenko will play in the next matches. We gave them a rest. Daniil was slightly ill, had a high fever, so we protected him. Yurii had a minor injury, he also needed time to recover. So they will definitely participate in the upcoming games."

Mikhailo Huiwan played very confidently today, well done! I congratulate him on his debut and wish him to continue growing. He has a bright future ahead.

Lithuania impressed with their organization and sporting spirit. They play at home, and we expected such a game from them. They are big, strong players, which is what they rely on, but we held our ground and did not lose the battle — that's the main thing. A very beneficial match, in my opinion.

The players under Oleksandr Kosenko's guidance topped their group and earned a direct spot at the World Cup. Along with Ukraine, Kazakhstan, France, Spain, and Portugal also secured spots from Europe. Two more lucky winners will be determined on April 17 after play-off matches between Netherlands vs Finland and Poland vs Croatia. All tournament participants will be announced by April 28 following the completion of regional qualification tournaments.
