On March 26, Ukraine's youth team (players born in or after 2005) impressively concluded their battle in the elite round of Euro 2024 qualification with a victory over Switzerland (3:0).

Prior to this, coach Dmitry Mykhaylenko's wards defeated North Macedonia (2:0) and Latvia (3:0). Thus, the blue-and-yellow team secured first place in their group with a perfect record and earned a spot at the final tournament of the European Championship, which will take place from July 15 to 28 in Northern Ireland, featuring eight national teams. The draw will be held on April 17 in Belfast (starting at 17:00 Kyiv time).

Yesterday, all participants of this tournament were determined. In addition to Northern Ireland, the tournament will feature Ukraine, Italy (current champions), France, Spain, Turkey, Norway, and Denmark. The hosts will occupy position A1, while other teams will be divided into two groups. From each quartet, the top two teams advance to the semifinals, which on July 28 will compete at Windsor Park in Belfast for the main trophy.

A match for fifth place is scheduled as Europe will send five representatives to the World Cup 2025 among U-20 teams, featuring 24 national teams. Thus, four semifinalists and the winner of a game between third-place finishers from each group qualify for this stage. Like the semifinals, it is set for July 25.

As a reminder, in 2019 Ukraine won gold at the World Cup among youth national teams U-20.
