Today, March 17 in the Netherlands, Ukraine's women's national team WU-17 played their second match of the Euro-2024 qualification round two in Group A5.

After losing in the opening game against the Netherlands (0:4), today in Nordwijk at Gemeentelijk Sportpark S.J.C., the team coached by Sergiy Sapronov faced Spain.

This time, Ukraine's national team put up a more serious fight, although they lost, conceding one goal in each half (in the 43rd and 68th minutes). Unfortunately, our girls have lost their chances to qualify for European top-tier status. The ticket from our Group A5 will be contested by Spain and the Netherlands.

The next and final match of the Euro-2024 qualification round will see Ukraine play against Turkey on March 20. At stake is maintaining their place in Group A for the next cycle. Our team, considering the goal difference, would need a draw to secure this.

In the second round of qualification, seven teams will join Sweden in the final stage of the European Championship among women's under-17 teams. Also, teams moving from one league to another are determined during this phase. The seeding for the draw was based on the positions teams finished in after the first round.

In League A, seven groups will feature 28 teams, including seven teams that advanced from League B following the results of the first round. Seven group winners in League A and one runner-up (if Sweden finishes first) will qualify for the finals to be held between May 5-18. Teams finishing fourth in their groups will compete in League B during the season's autumn phase.

In League B, 22 teams across six groups (four with four participants and two with three) will battle for promotion back to League A for the next round of qualification.
