From March 14 to 20 in the Netherlands, the second round of qualification for the European Championship among girls under 17 will take place, where Ukrainians will face the hosts and teams from Spain and Turkey.

The head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team WU-17, Serhiy Sapronov, commented on the official website of the UAF about the latest news from the team camp:

— Thanks to agreements between the UAF and the football association of the Netherlands, my wards have the opportunity to hold a four-day training camp in Delft, where we will be based during the qualifying matches. For Ukrainians, this was an excellent chance to train on grass, although it should be noted that in Delft, it rains quite often, and the state of the pitch is far from ideal.

It also worries me that all our matches will take place in the evening under artificial lighting. Our girls have never played under such conditions before. And there was no chance to adapt at all because the stadium where we train has no lighting, and so training starts after lunch.

— Will Ukrainians be playing with their strongest lineup in the Netherlands?

— Victoria Kostyukevych is absent as she plays in Finland and suffered a serious injury. There are only three newcomers in the squad — Anna Avramenko, Vladlena Kabanova, and Viktoriya Sanotska. I finalized the lineup after visiting the final stage of the girls' league WU-16 at the beginning of March in Lviv.

— What information do you have about your first opponents from the Netherlands, with whom you will be facing off on March 14?

— Unfortunately, I only have a video recording of the Dutch team's friendly match against Bulgaria. I understand that this is not much, but we will get some idea of how the hosts play.

— Who do you think is the favorite in your opinion for this qualifying group?

— The Spaniards. The rest of the participants are roughly equal in strength. Our task is not to finish fourth so that we can retain our place in League A.

— Who else, besides you, is part of the coaching staff?

— Lyudmila Lemesko and Oleksandr Mytiko. As for the players, there are 20 footballers in the Ukrainian delegation.

In the second round of qualification, seven teams will be determined to join Sweden at the final stage of the European Championship among girls under 17, as well as teams that will move from one league to another. The seeding during the draw for the second round was based on the positions in which the national teams finished in the first round.

In League A, seven groups with a total of 28 teams are playing, including seven teams that rose from League B after the results of the first round. The seven group winners in League A during the second round (and the best runner-up if Sweden finishes first in their group) will qualify for the final stage, which will take place between May 5 and 18. Teams finishing fourth in their groups will start the next season's first round in League B.

22 teams are playing in six groups (four with four participants each, two with three) in League B, including those who were relegated after the autumn stage from League A. They compete for promotion to League A in the next qualifying cycle.
