Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on January 21, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred ninety-seventh day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Over the past day, there were 80 combat engagements. In total, the enemy carried out three missile and four air strikes, conducted 58 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers on our positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Over 40 residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged or destroyed.

During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another air strike using two Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down one enemy drone.

Air strikes hit Chernyatynka and Seredina-Buda in Sumy Oblast.

Over 140 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, and increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 21 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Petro-Pavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled six attacks by occupiers near Terny, Yamopolivkyi in Donetsk Oblast and another seven attacks in the areas of Serebryansky forest farm, Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction, defensive forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Bogdanivka, Klyschyvka and Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting heavy losses on aggressors. Thus, defensive forces repelled 11 attacks by the enemy in the area of Avdiivka and another 12 attacks south of Severnyi, Vodyanyi, Pervomaiskyi and Nevelskyi in Donetsk Oblast over the past day.

On the Mariupol direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back occupiers near Georgiyivka, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, where six attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders repelled an attack by the enemy west of Verbovyi in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, defensive forces continue to conduct actions aimed at expanding their foothold. Despite heavy losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. Over the past day, the enemy carried out six unsuccessful assaults on our positions.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers actively inflict casualties in manpower and equipment on occupation forces along the entire front line.

Over the course of the day, aviation of defensive forces delivered strikes against six areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, a ZRK complex, an ammunition depot, and a communications node of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops struck three areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, a command post, and a radio-electronic warfare station of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day amounted to: 760 occupiers, 10 tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, seven artillery systems, one MLRS, one air defense system, two tactical drones, 14 vehicles and three units of special equipment.
