President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about another step towards full membership of our country in the EU and the results of the summit with Northern European countries.

"I wish good health to dear Ukrainians, dear Ukrainian women!

An important day. An important week. Important visits. Many meetings and talks, even more behind-the-scenes work and with friends as well as skeptics — with everyone. Ukraine always defends itself. And achieves what it needs. Even when someone doubts us, we do not give up but convince and fight. Fight — and you will win. That's how it works.

A truly strong result for both Ukraine and all of Europe. Another step towards full membership of Ukraine in the EU. I thank everyone who supported and carried out what we agreed upon. Thank you to everyone in Ukraine, our team, who did everything necessary. We have fulfilled the recommendations of the European Commission. Doubts are gone. Today — a decision on starting negotiations for joining the EU. After this step there will be more steps ahead. This is great work — integrating the state, all institutions, all norms — into the European Union. But we will do it. Ukraine has already shown what it can achieve. There will be another victorious decision — there will come a time when we can celebrate Ukraine's entry into the EU.

Now in Ukraine many people are uplifted, and this is important, this is motivation. I congratulate all of you, each one of you, on what has been achieved! We have succeeded together — those who strengthen Europe’s unity by uniting Ukraine.

I want to especially thank everyone, men and women, who fight for Ukraine, who are now in battle defending the freedom of Ukraine, who help our soldiers — treating them, training them, supplying weapons, producing weapons. Everything we achieve would be impossible without the heroic courage of our people, our nation, which inspires the entire world. All of us.

I returned to Ukraine — now in Lviv — with a decision regarding the EU and other matters that strengthen PPO. More support packages will also come. There was a good summit with Northern European countries. Our friends, thank you for your support. Strong decisions. Denmark — new package worth over a billion dollars: for air defense, artillery, and much more. Norway — new package, over 400 million dollars. Especially PPO. Finland is preparing a new package too. Iceland is preparing a long-term financial support program — very significant. Sweden — also a new package. There's a strong statement from the Ukraine plus Northern Europe summit — another political weapon that brings us closer to victory.

The visit to Argentina — effectively restarts relations with all of Latin America. Thank you for clear words of support.

And, of course, the United States. Today I was at the base in Wiesbaden in Germany, where US forces in Europe and Africa are stationed. Powerful. There our men — soldiers. Working hard. Of course, there were meetings with partners who strengthen us. And a visit to Washington. President Biden, his team, Secretary Austin, General Brown. Congress — both chambers, both parties. Speaker Johnson. I heard words of respect for our people and our struggle. Important advice. Important agreements. Thank you all for your support. We will continue our work. And we expect the Congress to approve necessary decisions soon.

We must win!

No matter what happens — we work, fight and increase our strength, the strength of our beautiful Ukraine. Believe in your own power!

Glory to Ukraine!"
