To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 4, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and forty-ninth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore laws and customs of war, employs tactics of terror, carries out missile and air strikes, conducts shelling with multiple rocket launchers not only at military but also at numerous civilian objects in our country.

Over the past day, 68 combat engagements took place.

In total, the enemy carried out one missile and 45 air strikes, conducted 49 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on our military positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Last night, Russian occupiers carried out an air strike against Ukraine using the guided missile Kh-59 and 12 combat drones of type Shahed-136/131. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 10 combat drones.

On the night of December 4, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine again with a guided missile Kh-59 and 21 Shahed-136/131 combat drones. Sixteen enemy drones and the guided missile Kh-59 were destroyed.

Air strikes hit the Seredynsky Forest District in Chernihiv Oblast, Sporne, Klychyivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, and Kriniki in Kherson Oblast.

Over 130 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «North» on the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk front Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks near Sinkyvka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lysychansk front, forces of defense repelled three enemy attacks near Seredynsky Forest District in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front our soldiers repelled 16 enemy attacks in the areas of Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Andriyivka and Klychyivka in Donetsk Oblast. Forces of defense Ukraine continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating on gained positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Taurida» on the Avdiivka front Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Forces of defense successfully repelled 21 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novokalynove and Novobakhmutivka as well as in the areas of Stepovoye, Avdiivka, Severnyy, Pervomaysk in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka front forces of defense continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast where our defenders repelled eight attacks.

On the Shakhtarsk front our soldiers repelled an attack by the enemy near Staromajorske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia front forces of defense repelled three attacks by the enemy who attempted to regain lost positions south of Robotino. Our defenders also repelled three attacks by the enemy near Novopavlovykivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

At the same time, on the Melitopol front, forces of defense Ukraine continue active actions inflicting losses on occupying troops in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire frontline.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Odessa» on the Kherson front forces of defense continue to hold occupied positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, continuing counter-battery fire and inflicting artillery strikes on enemy rear areas.

Over the past day, aviation of forces of defense carried out eight strikes against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two — against anti-aircraft missile systems and two — against ammunition depots of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket forces inflicted damage on heavy multiple launch rocket systems and the Pantsir air defense system of the enemy.
