UEFA reacted to FIFA's decision regarding the women’s futsal World Cup and ratified changes to the format of the European Championship.

After introducing a women's futsal World Cup, UEFA will expand the Women's Euro to eight teams. The tournament will take place every four years, with the next one in 2027.

Starting from the first tournament in 2019, the Women’s Euro was held every two years and concluded with a final stage involving four teams. From 2025 onwards, FIFA will host a World Cup featuring sixteen teams, while according to the decision made at UEFA's Executive Committee meeting in Hamburg, the final tournament of the Euro, starting from 2027, will feature eight teams.

Qualification for the first World Cup begins in 2024, and its format and regulations will be finalized later. Qualification for the next Euro will start in 2026, with the tournament's format and regulations to be announced at a later date.

It is worth noting that all three European Championships held up until now—in 2019, 2022 (rescheduled from 2021), and in 2023—were won by Spain. The Ukrainian team finished fourth, third, and second respectively at these events.
