The head coach of the Ukrainian women's futsal team, Oleg Shaytanov, commented on their victory over Slovenia (2:1) in the first friendly match.

"It was very difficult for our experienced players to play today, so I wouldn't judge the new futsalists of the national team. This match reminds me of our game against Slovakia this year, where we also gathered a day before and showed not particularly impressive play. So everyone didn't play at their maximum potential."

"I can't say that in the second half we changed much, but in some moments our girls were more accurate, which decided the fate of the match. Especially the last counterattack '3 on 2', when we actually played the opportunity to score quite well. On a ten-point scale, I would rate the teams' play at 4-5 because we really didn't impress with our game in this match," — Oleg Shaytanov said in an interview for the YouTube channel of the Futsal Association of Ukraine.

The second match between the national teams of Slovenia and Ukraine will take place today in the city of Podčetrtek (start at 6 PM Kyiv time).

We remind you that recently FIFA made a decision to hold the first women's futsal World Cup in 2025. Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament. The quotas for participation are distributed as follows: Europe — 4, South America — 3, Asia — 3, Africa — 2, CONCACAF — 2, Oceania — 1. One more spot will go to the host country.
