The women's national team of Ukraine, which this year in Hungary became the silver medalist at the European Championship [link], after a long break returned to training.

Blue and yellow headed to Slovenia where they held NTR matches and planned two friendlies with the local team. The first match, in Kidricevo, ended in victory for Oleg Shaytanov's wards — 2:1. The second game took place today in Podcetrtek.

The first half was played evenly, but closer to halftime the Ukrainians pressed their opponents and on the 19th minute Kalygina opened the score with a rebound after a long shot by Stepanenko.

At the start of the second half, Kalygina completed her brace by breaking through the right flank and outplaying the goalkeeper. However, Slovenians quickly responded with their goal — Esenovc scored with a powerful long shot into the far corner.

Afterwards our team had several more good moments, in one episode the Balkan players were saved by a crossbar. Near the end of the match Slovenians started using the fifth player substitution, and on the 35th minute a powerful long shot by Jvokel allowed them to equalize — 2:2. In the end neither team could claim victory.
