Euro 2024 (U-17): Ukraine's youth team lost in the third match to Germany's team
Today, October 21, the Ukraine U-17 youth team concluded their qualifying round for Euro-2024 with a match against Germany.

At the start of the mini-tournament in Group 3, blue-and-yellow drew with Finland (2:2), after which they crushed the hosts from Liechtenstein — 7:0.
Today in Vaduz, Ukraine, as group leaders, faced Germany, and for advancing to the next round of selection, under coach Volodymyr Yezeretsky, they settled for a draw.
The first half saw an advantage for the Germans who several times came close — notably Izekor, Onyeka, Sauk. And Stange even scored a goal but was rightfully disallowed by the referee due to offside.
After halftime, the national team intensified their pressure and on the 53rd minute achieved their goal — after a cross from Cherni, Izekor marked with a header. He also threatened Petrenko's goal three more times. The Ukrainians tried to counterattack but unfortunately were not successful. Germany controlled the match and ultimately secured victory, taking first place in the group.
As for Ukraine's team, their fate will be decided in a few weeks when mini-tournaments in other groups conclude. Among third-place teams, five of thirteen will advance to the elite round of selection, and with one golden point and a goal difference of 2-3, blue-and-yellow could qualify for one of the spots.

The winners of the top two places in qualifying groups and five best third-placed teams based on results against first and second place teams will advance to the elite round, where they will face the Netherlands team already waiting for them.
Matches at this stage will take place in March 2024. They will determine 15 national teams joining Cyprus in the final tournament that runs from May 20 to June 5.
