Note to Your Attention — Operational Information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 18, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundredth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense are continuing defensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, an offensive operation on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.

At the beginning of the day, Russian occupiers carried out a rocket strike on a multi-story residential building in central Zaporizhzhia: there are fatalities, injuries, and people missing without trace.

During the past day, 69 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy launched three missile strikes and 35 air raids, carried out 39 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers on our positions and populated areas. Also, Russian occupiers delivered another missile-air raid on Ukraine, using guided air-to-surface missiles Kh-59, anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300, and six strike drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. With the forces and means of air defense, one guided air-to-surface missile Kh-59 and six Shahed-136/131 were destroyed. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

Russian occupiers carried out air strikes on Mykolaiv in Sumy region; Seredynsky Forest District, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Spere, Veseloye, New York, Avdiivka, Stepove, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Urozhayne, Stary Maiorsky, Rivnopole in Donetsk region; Berislov and Veseloye in Kherson region.

Also, Russian aggressors shelled with artillery nearly 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «North» on the Volynsky and Polesky directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Severnokyivsky and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled more than 15 enemy attacks near populated areas of Synkivka, Ivanivka and Kislivka in Kharkiv region and nine attacks near Nadiya in Luhansk region.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct storming operations.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions near Klyshchivka in Donetsk region. Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue storming actions south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses on occupiers in manpower and equipment, consolidating at achieved lines.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Tavria» on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Here our defenders repelled five enemy attacks.

On the Mariinka and Shakhtarsky directions, our defenders repelled more than 20 enemy attacks in the area of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, as well as two attacks south of Zolotoy Niva and south of Prechystovka in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions southwest of Robotino in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Odessa» on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders are conducting counter-battery fire, inflicting artillery damage on enemy rear areas.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue an offensive operation on the Melitopol direction, achieving partial success south of Robotino in Zaporizhzhia region. Our warriors inflict losses on occupiers in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the day, aviation of the Defense Forces delivered 15 strikes against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as three strikes against anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage on five command points, an area of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, a munitions depot, and an artillery system of the enemy.

Estimated losses of Russian occupiers over the past day totaled: 620 aggressors, two tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, eight artillery systems, one aircraft, six helicopters, ten drones of operational-tactical level, a cruise missile, and ten automobiles.
