General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: operational information regarding the Russian invasion (as of 10:00 26.09.2023)

To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on September 26, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred eighty-fifth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Yesterday, the Russian Federation once again attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles and Iranian Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Our defenders destroyed 11 Kalibr cruise missiles and 24 enemy Shaheds.

In addition, early this morning, the occupiers again attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. Air defense forces shot down 26 out of 38 enemy attack UAVs.

Forces defending Ukraine continue to conduct defensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, step by step liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions at the lines they have reached.

During the past day, 25 combat engagements took place. The enemy delivered 16 missile strikes and 72 air raids, carried out 65 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers both on our troops' positions and civilian objects of our state. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were fatalities and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure sustained damage.

Air raids hit Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Popivka, Ponomarenky in Sumy Oblast; Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kislivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Nadia, Novoyegorivka, Nevskoje, Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast; Spirene, Vasyukivka, Pivnichne, Avdiyivka, Mariinka, Novomikhailivka, Urozhayne, Zelenoe Pole in Donetsk Oblast; Verbove, Robotyne in Zaporizhia Oblast; Berislov, Odarkamyanka, Olhivka and Lvov in Kherson Oblast.

Artillery shelling affected nearly 150 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Bakhmut direction our defenders successfully repelled five attacks by the enemy in the Klitschiyivka area of Donetsk Oblast, where the enemy attempted to restore lost positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiyivsky direction, forces defending Ukraine repelled attacks by the enemy in the areas of populated places Avdiyivka and Severne of Donetsk Oblast. On the Mariinsky direction the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Mariinka, Donetsk Oblast, where he made 10 failed attempts to drive our units from their positions throughout the day. In addition, the enemy attempted to restore lost positions in the Novomikhailivka area of Donetsk Oblast but was not successful. At the same time on the Shakhtarsky and Zaporizhsky directions, our defenders continue to hold the defense at occupied lines, protecting our land from occupiers.

On the Melitopol direction forces defending Ukraine continue offensive operations, inflicting losses on occupying troops in manpower and equipment, consolidating their positions at occupied lines, and exhausting the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces defending Ukraine continue to conduct counter-battery warfare, destroying depots and successfully targeting the rear of the enemy.

The enemy continues to suffer significant losses. It has been established that in the 200th separate motorized infantry brigade of the 14th army corps of coastal troops of the Northern Fleet of RF, which is involved in combat operations between Bakhmut and Soledar, there are high combat losses in manpower, both medical and irrecoverable. Thus, in the city of Pervomaysk, Luhansk Oblast, a military hospital has been set up in the central municipal hospital where more than 200 servicemen of Russian occupation forces are being treated, mainly from the 200th brigade. In the manpower composition of the unit, there is a low level of morale and psychological state, as well as lack of motivation for further combat operations.

Russian occupiers cynically continue to violate norms of international humanitarian law: forcibly housing together with civilian residents in their homes, using peaceful citizens as human shields. Thus, in the populated place Novo Zaporizhia, Russian troops are using private courtyards where civilians live as firing positions for military equipment and manpower.

During the past day, the air force of the forces defending Ukraine delivered 11 strikes on areas of concentration of manpower, armaments, and military equipment, as well as seven strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to nine artillery pieces, an area of concentration of manpower and military equipment, a depot of ammunition and a radar station of the enemy.

Overall, the enemy lost: 400 occupiers, five tanks, 19 armored combat vehicles, 39 artillery systems, one multiple rocket launcher system, 29 tactical UAVs, 11 cruise missiles, 17 vehicles and seven units of special equipment.

Support the Armed Forces of Ukraine! We will win together!

Glory to Ukraine!
