After the first round of group stage matches in European cup competitions, Ukraine moved to 18th place in UEFA's five-year coefficient table for the period 2019/2020–2023/2024 and continues its fight for a top-15 position to retain two qualifying spots for the Champions League.

Five domestic clubs started the season 2023/2024, and three of them have already exited after falling into the Conference League: "Vorskla" lost to "Dile" (1:3), "Dnipro-1" — to "Spartak" (1:2), and "Dynamo" — to "Besiktas" (0:1).

Ukraine's performance at the start of this season in European cup competitions was modest: only one point (0.2 points) was added to the kitty by "Zorya," which drew 1-1 with "Gent" (1:1) in the Conference League. Unfortunately, "Shakhtar" lost to "Porto" (1:3) in the Champions League.

Overall, our association has 9.5 points or 1.900 coefficient points. "Shakhtar," despite not playing a match, received four bonus points for reaching the group stage of the Champions League; "Zorya" scored two points, "Dnipro-1" — 1.5, and both "Vorskla" and "Dynamo" have one point each.

However, the most disappointing fact is that all our competitors who were behind us in the rankings have improved their positions this season. Denmark gained 0.25 points, Norway also gained 0.25 points, Czech Republic gained 0.4 points, and Israel gained 0.375 points.
