Alexander Zinchenko, a versatile player for the Ukraine national team, was named "Man of the Match" — the best player in the Euro 2024 qualification match against England.

In yesterday's Euro 2024 qualifier in Group C, the Ukrainian national team drew with England (1:1). The only goal for the blue and yellow team was scored by Alexander Zinchenko, who was named "Man of the Match" by supporters.

After the match, the winner commented on the award and the game itself.

«I would like to dedicate this award to all the fans of the Ukraine national team because they achieved this result. With their support, it was impossible to lose. I understand that the England national team is one of the best in the world, but together with our supporters, we ensured a good outcome for the match. 

We made the right conclusions from the first game against the English. We analyzed both our good and not-so-good actions. We understood that much time would have to be spent in defense, playing as one unit, as one team. And it happened.

In the episode with the scored goal, the team came out into attack very well. Viktor and Fima played excellently on their flanks, while I simply did my job and tried to be in the right place.

As for the match against Italy, first of all, we need to recover. Each of us understands what they need to do, so I hope that there will be enough time for recovery before this very important game.»
