Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on July 7, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred ninety-ninth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the night of July 7, 2023, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with Iranian combat drones of the Shahed type from a southeast direction, specifically from the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar Krai, RF. In total, 18 "Shaheds" were launched. As a result of our air defense operations, 12 combat UAVs of the Shahed type were destroyed.

Over the past day, Russia carried out missile strikes on Ukraine using 11 cruise missiles «Kalibr», seven of which were destroyed by anti-aircraft missile units and aviation of the Air Force. Three Kalibr missiles hit the city of Lviv, one missile — a private house in Cherkasy Oblast. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks on Lviv, unfortunately, there are seven civilian casualties, over 35 people were injured with varying degrees of severity. Over 35 houses, more than 250 apartments, ten apartment buildings, a children's home, two higher educational institutions and other civil infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

In addition, the enemy carried out 57 air strikes, four of which were with Iranian combat UAVs of the «Shahed» type. All four kamikaze drones were destroyed by our air defense systems. The occupiers also conducted 67 shelling operations using multiple rocket launchers. In particular, Russian troops shelled peaceful settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariupol directions — 30 combat engagements took place over the past day.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of forming offensive groups by the enemy have been detected. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky Directions, the enemy carried out an air strike near Gatische, Kharkiv Oblast. Over the day, it conducted mortar and artillery shelling of more than 15 populated areas, including in the vicinity of Staro-Virki, Iskriskovshchina, Katerinivka, Zapsillya Sumskaya Oblast and Cherneshchyna, Odnorobivka, Hoptivka Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk Direction, our soldiers firmly hold their defense. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy was experienced in Krassne First, Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne and Kislivka Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman Direction, over the day with air support, the enemy made attempts to push our troops from occupied positions west of Karazinovka Luhansk Oblast but was unsuccessful. It carried out air strikes near Karazinovka and Nevsko Luhansk Oblast as well as Terny, Ivanivka and Fedorivka Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling was experienced by more than 15 populated areas, including Nevske, Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast and Verkhnyokamianskoe, Berestevo, Rizdolivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut Direction, under intense air and artillery fire from the enemy, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by occupiers in the vicinity of Berkhivka Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out an air strike near Ivanivskiy. At the same time, our soldiers continue to conduct offensive operations south and north of Bakhmut city. In the area of Klichyivka they have partial success, consolidating on gained positions. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasukivka, Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klichyivka, Oleksandr-Shultyne, Bila Hora and Dilievka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka Direction, Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian troops' advance in the vicinity of Novokalynovo and Avdiivka Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out air strikes near Novokalynovo and Avdiivka Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, the enemy conducted artillery shelling of more than 15 populated areas, including Keramik, Zelane, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Novomayske and Karlivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol Direction, under enemy artillery fire our defenders repelled all attacks by aggressors in the vicinity of Mariinka city. The enemy carried out an air strike near Krasnogorivka. The enemy shelled more than 10 populated areas. Among them — Krasnogorivka, Georgiyevka, Maximiliano, Gostre, Mariinka and Pobeda Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk Direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Novomikhailovka Donetsk Oblast. It carried out an air strike near Vuhledar. The enemy shelled more than 15 populated areas, including Blagodatne, Vuhledar, Zolotaya Niva, Shakhtarsk and Velika Nova Sylka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Directions, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing our troops' advance. It carried out air strikes in the vicinity of populated areas such as Velika Novosyolka Donetsk Oblast; Novodarivka, Chernaya Krinitsa, Novodanilivka Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Zmiyevka, Dachi and Komishany Kherson Oblast. It conducted artillery shelling of more than 30 populated areas, including Malynivka, Hulyaypole, Zaliznychnye, Yegorivka, Mala Tokmachka Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Marhanetska community Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; Zolotaya Balka, Sadove, Antonivka, Pryozernoye Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson. At the same time, Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations on Melitopol and Berdiansk Directions, consolidating on gained positions, conducting counter-battery measures.

Russian occupiers cynically continue to violate international humanitarian law norms and use children's facilities in temporarily occupied settlements for the deployment of their troops with the aim of using civilian population as a human shield. Thus, in the populated area of Novopetrovka Berdiansk District Zaporizhzhia Oblast on the territory of the children's sanatorium «Vesna», Russian military personnel have established a military base where over 800 Russian servicemen and dispersed Russian military equipment are located in close proximity to local residents' residential buildings.

And in the populated area of Chumakivka Kherson Oblast, Russian occupiers have re-equipped the rest home «Iva» into a military command post, conducting interrogations and persecuting patriots among Ukrainian citizens.

Aviation of Defense Forces of Ukraine over the past day carried out eight strikes on areas of enemy personnel concentration and one — on an enemy air defense missile system.

Units of rocket troops and artillery during the past day damaged one area of enemy forces, ammunition and military equipment concentration, one ammunition depot, six artillery systems at firing positions and three stations for radio-electronic warfare of occupiers.

Overall, our soldiers liquidated 510 Russian occupiers, two tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 20 artillery systems, one MLRS, four air defense systems, 17 UAVs at the operational-tactical level, ten cars and seven units of special equipment.
