After yesterday's loss in the opening match at the III European Games in Poland against Spain (4:6), today Yuri Klimenko's team faced Italy, which holds the sixth position in the BSWW world ranking (Ukraine is currently fifth).

The first period saw a slight advantage for Ukraine, who created three more scoring opportunities than their opponents (8:5), although no goals were scored. In the second 12-minute segment, the same picture emerged — our girls created more chances but to no avail.

However, at the start of the third period, Italian player Caterina Barjì gave her team the lead. The savior for Ukraine was Yuliya Deychtyar. Twice within a minute she directed the ball into the opponents' goal. 

As a result, 2:1 in favor of Ukraine, which retains its medal hopes at the III European Games.
