To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on June 8, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred seventy day of large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against our state has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to wage an aggressive war, disregarding losses. To achieve its goals, it continues to use tactics of terror, delivering strikes and shelling civilian objects, including residential areas.

During the past day, the enemy delivered five missile and 48 aviation strikes, carried out 70 artillery attacks from multiple rocket launchers. Sadly, in addition to destroyed infrastructure, civilians were also affected.

The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across all of Ukraine remains very high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts at full occupation of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Thirty combat encounters took place during the past day.

On the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Northern and Slobodian fronts, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in border areas with Ukraine. During the past day, the adversary carried out an aviation strike near Strelchya in Kharkiv region; conducted mortar and artillery shelling of populated areas Galaganyvka, Leonivka Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Volfine, Rozhkovychi, Vovkivka, Yablonivka Sumy region, as well as Udi, Veterinarnoe, Graniv, Morokhovec, Terneva, Staritsya, Vovchansky, Gatsishche, Pokalyane, Budarky, Zemlyanka, Zarubinka, Chugunivka and Milove in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk front, during the past day, the enemy delivered aviation strikes near Kyslivka in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region. Artillery and mortar shelling was experienced by Kamyanka, Topoli, Krasne Pereche, Petro-Ivanivka, Figolivka, Novomlynsky, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashyvka, Kyslivka, Tabayevka, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Novoselyvske in Luhansk region.

On the Lyman front, during the past day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near Veselo in Donetsk region. Delivered aviation strikes in areas of Zarychne, Yamopolivka, Bihorivka, Severna, Zvanivka, Ivan-Darivka, Spirnoe, Veselo and Nikiforivka in Donetsk region. Artillery shelling was experienced by Makieyivka, Nevsko, Bihorivka Luhansk region and Verkhnyokamianske, Torske, Spirene, Rozdolyvka Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut front, the enemy carried out offensive actions towards Orilovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivsky and North directions, without success. Delivered aviation strikes in areas of Dilyevka and White Mountain in Donetsk region. Civilian casualties were reported from Vasyukivka, Orilovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochki, Oleksandro-Shultyne, White Mountain, Toretsk, North Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivka front, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to advance towards populated areas of Avdiyivka and Pervomaisk. Delivered aviation strikes in the area of Avdiyivka. Conducted artillery shelling of areas around Berdychi, Stepole, Avdiyivka, Pervomaisk, Karlivka Donetsk region.

On the Marinka front, our defenders repelled numerous attacks by the enemy in the area of Mariinka city, inflicting significant losses. At the same time, the enemy delivered aviation strikes on Krasnogorivtsi and carried out artillery shelling of Ukraine, Gostroho, Maximiliani, Georgiyevka, Mariinka, Pobedy and Novomikhaylivka Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy delivered aviation strikes in areas of Prechistivky, Golden Field, Shakhtarsk. Conducted shelling of populated areas Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Golden Field and Vremyvka Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, the enemy continues to carry out defensive actions. Delivered aviation strikes in areas of populated places Novopil Donetsk region, Olhyvske, Poltavka Zaporizhzhia region. Conducted artillery shelling of populated places Burlytske, Novosylikha, Novopil, Temirovka Donetsk region; Olhyvske, Poltavka, Hulyaypole, Charyvne, Bihorija, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaki, Stepole and Kamyanske Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol Dnipropetrovsk region; Berislav, Veseloye, Tokarivka, Sadove, Bilozersk Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Occupants were not prepared for the consequences of blowing up the Kakhovska HES paddle wheel, suffering losses in manpower, armaments and military equipment. In particular, among units of the 7th airborne assault division and the 22nd army corps of the RFZ there are injured, killed and missing. Also, in the mentioned units several field ammunition depots with supplies were lost, as well as automobile and armored vehicles, other military property.

At the same time on June 6th, a mass evacuation of civilian population from Kakhovka city took place, during which people used their own automotive transport. Along with the civilian population, Russian occupiers also used evacuation routes. During such movement, aggressors used local residents as human shields.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 23 strikes on areas of personnel concentration and four — on enemy air defense missile complexes during the past day.

During the past day, our defenders destroyed four enemy reconnaissance drones.

Units of rocket forces and artillery inflicted damage to four command points, nine areas of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, five ammunition depots, two air defense missile complexes and one radar station of the enemy during the day.
