To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 26, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The fourth hundred and fifty-seventh day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our country has begun.

Last night, Russian terrorists carried out new missile and aerial strikes with "shaheds" on Ukraine. Information about the consequences of this terrorist attack is being clarified at present.

Overall, during the past day, the enemy launched four missile attacks. A S-300 missile hit a dam near Karlivka in Donetsk Oblast. As a result, there is a significant threat of flooding other nearby settlements. In addition, the enemy carried out 55 aerial strikes. Specifically, 36 Iranian Shahed attack drones were used — all these air targets were destroyed. Also recorded were 19 artillery shelling incidents.

The likelihood of missile and aerial attacks on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes — 22 combat engagements took place during the past day.

On the Volyn and Polesie fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the settlements Senkivka, Snovsk, Hay, Kamyanka-Sloboda in Chernihiv Oblast; Bachivske, Khodine, Volodymyrivka, Basivka, Oleksandrivka, and Velyka Pysaryvka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Strilecha, Krasne, Cherkinskyi Tishki, Lukiancy, Neskuchne, Terova, Vovalyanivske, Chugunivka, and Khatnye in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk front, the enemy continues to try to improve its tactical position. Carried out aerial strikes near Chaykivka and Kislivka in Kharkiv Oblast. Throughout the day, it attempted unsuccessful offensive actions around Masutivka. The settlements of Topolye, Figolivka, Novomlynivske, Dvorichna, Masutivka, Zapadne, Kislivka in Kharkiv Oblast and Novoselyvskoye and Steylmakhivka on the Luhansk region suffered from artillery and mortar shelling.

On the Lyman front, throughout the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions around Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. Aerial strikes were also carried out there and near Ivan-Daryivka in Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling was suffered by Makieyivka, Nevskoje, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast as well as Ianyvka, Tor'ske, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Spirene on the Donets region.

On the Bakhmut front, throughout the day, the enemy continued to conduct offensive actions around Bakhmut. The settlements of Vasyukivka, Pryvillya, Oryhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Kalyinivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechina, Kostyantynivka, Bila Hora and Pivnichne in Donetsk Oblast suffered from enemy shelling.

On the Avdiivka front, throughout the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Krasnogorivka. Aerial strikes were also carried out around Avdiivka and Vodiane. Artillery shelling was conducted near Avdiivka, Pereval'skoye, and Karlivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol front, units of the Defense Forces repelled numerous attacks by the enemy around the city of Mariupol. The enemy also used aviation for strikes there. At the same time, shelling was suffered by Mariupol and Pobeda in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk front the occupiers shelled, among others, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novosilka.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, the enemy continues to conduct defensive actions. Aerial strikes were carried out in the areas of Olhivske, Hulyaypole, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Novoberezivka on the Kherson region. Shelling was conducted against settlements such as Zeleno Pole, Olhivske, Maliyinivka, Hulyaypole, Hulaypil'skoye, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Shevryky, Stebnoye, Kam'yanske and Stepnogirsk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Nikopol on the Dnipropetrovsk region (seven private homes were damaged); Zolotaya Balka, Novoaleksandrovka, Hryhorivka, Veselye, Kozatske, L'vove, Vysuntsi, Bilyozerkha, Antonivka, Velentsynske in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

The aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted five strikes on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated.

Also, during the past day, our defenders shot down an enemy Su-25 aircraft.

Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit a command post, a surface-to-air missile system, two areas of troop concentration, one ammunition depot, one radar station, and two artillery units on firing positions.
