To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 05.05.2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and thirty-sixth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on our territory, using Iranian strike drones Shahed. 18 out of 24 were destroyed by our defenders. 

Russia continues to employ tactics of terror. During the past day, the enemy carried out ten missile strikes on the cities of Kramatorsk and Zaporizhzhia. Carried out 75 air raids and conducted 65 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers against our troops' positions and populated areas. There are fatalities and injuries among civilians, private residential buildings, educational institutions, kindergartens, and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations on the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Mariupol axes, where during the day our defense forces repelled nearly 60 attacks. The fiercest battles are being fought for Bakhmut and Mariupol.

On the Volyn and Polesie fronts, no signs of forming offensive groupings have been detected. No significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts, the enemy continues to shell populated areas in Ukraine from Russian territory, improving engineering equipment at localities. During the past day, it shelled the settlements of Yelene, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Buchki, and Hreminche Chernihiv Oblast; Uralove, Porokhony, Studenok, Shaligine, Rivne, Boyaro-Lyachy, Stukalyvka, Bilypyllya, Timofiyivka, Kindratiivka, Oleksiyivka, Yunakiivka and Slavgorod Sumy Oblast; as well as Chervona Zoria, Hlibokye, Lypci, Vesele, Ogirceve, Vovchanskyi Khutori, Karaiychne, Bochkove, Budarky, Komysarove, Kolodyazhne and Krasnoe Pereche on the Kharkivshchyna. Private houses were destroyed or damaged. There are injuries among civilians.

On the Kupyansk front, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy was experienced by Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Liman First, Kislivka, Kotlyaryvka, Khromylnyane and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman front, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Bilohorivka and southwest of Svernaya. Artillery shelling was experienced by Stelmakhivka, Andriyivka, Grekivka, Makiivka, Nevskoye, Pishchane, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Torske, Severnyi, Verkhnyokamianske, Svernaya and Rozdolovka on the Donetsk.

On the Bakhmut front, battles are ongoing in the city of Bakhmut. The enemy also conducted unsuccessful offensive operations towards the populated areas of Bogdanivka and Marove. Areas affected by enemy shelling include Nikiforivka, Vasyukivka, Novomarove, Marove, Hryhorivka, Bogdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandr-Shultine, Dilievka, Zalizne and New York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka front, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. It shelled Avdiivka, Perevalskiy, Netaylove and Karlivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol front, the enemy is trying to improve its tactical position. During the day, numerous attacks by the enemy were repelled near Mariupol. At the same time, populated areas of Krasnogorivka, Pobeda and Novomikhaylivka in Donetsk Oblast suffered from enemy shelling.

On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy shelled Vuhledar, Nova Ukrayinka, Prechystyvka and Shakhtarske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson fronts, occupiers are defending. They shelled over 55 populated areas. Among them — Vremivka, Novosilka and Novopil in Donetsk Oblast; Malynivka, Novoandriyivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepole and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhya Oblast; Mykhaylivka, Kozatske, Lvov, Novotyagynka, Sofiyivka in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

Forced passportization of Ukrainian citizens is ongoing in the Stanichno-Lugansk district of Luhansk Oblast. Thus, according to the order of the so-called «administration» of Russian occupation, local organization and enterprise leaders were instructed on providing information about conducted measures for passportization of the local population.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out six strikes against enemy personnel concentration areas during the day. In addition, four «Lancet» mobile combat supplies were destroyed.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage on one command point, eight manpower concentration areas, two ammunition depots and one radio-electronic warfare station over the course of a day.

Overall, our defenders liquidated 620 Russian occupiers, destroyed three tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, sixteen artillery systems, three multiple rocket launchers, seventeen tactical drones, thirty vehicles and three units of special equipment.
