In honor of the All-Ukrainian Day of Football and for his historical contribution to the development of Ukrainian football, Oleg Blokhin, winner of the "Golden Ball" in 1975 and former national team coach of Ukraine, received from Andriy Pavelko the Order of "Legend of Ukrainian Football."

Oleg Blokhin continues to share his experience and knowledge for the benefit of new achievements in domestic football. We remind you that Oleg Volodymyrovych is co-chairman of the National Teams Committee of the UAF and the Strategic Development Council of Professional Football at the UAF.

Football relies on the connection between generations and their achievements, which serve as a motivation for young people and even very small admirers of the game. I am proud to represent the Ukrainian football school, proud that I had the opportunity to promote Ukrainian football at the highest international level. Also grateful to the UAF and its leadership for the opportunity to continue my work in the interest of developing our football. This is especially valuable to me during this extraordinarily difficult time of trials for our country," — Oleg Blokhin noted after receiving the award.

And his success at the helm of the national team in the final stage of the 2006 World Cup remains a powerful motivation for many coaches.
