To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 22.04.2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The fourth hundred and twenty-third day of the large-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore international humanitarian law, striking not only at our military positions but also at civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents.

During the past day, the enemy carried out three missile strikes, 30 air raids, and conducted 50 artillery shelling operations.

The likelihood of further missile and air attacks on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

Main efforts of the enemy are concentrated on conducting offensive actions on the Bakhmutsky, Avdiyivsky, Mariinsky, and Shakhtarsky axes — 53 attacks were repelled. The city of Bakhmut remains at the epicenter of combat operations.

On the Volynsky and Polesky axes, the operational situation — no significant changes. Determined units of the armed forces of the republic of Belarus continue to perform tasks in border areas with Ukraine. On the territory of the republic of Belarus, some subunits of territorial troops of the Russian Federation's armed forces remain.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky axes, the enemy continues to maintain a certain number of its troops in border areas with Ukraine in Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions. During the past day, shelled populated areas of Leonivka and Gremyach in Chernihiv region; Shaliginoye, Volfinoye, and Kindratiivka — Sumy region, as well as Hoptivka and Vovchanskyi Khutor in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk axis, during the past day, the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position, conducted assault operations near the populated area of Liman First but was unsuccessful. Enemy shelling affected Krasne First, Novomlynivske, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kotliarivka and Berestevo in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman axis, during the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards Bakhmut. Artillery shelling affected Stehlomahivka, Makieyivka, Nevsko, Dibrova and Bakhmut in Luhansk region as well as Ivanivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirene and Zvanivka in Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmutsky axis, fierce battles for the city of Bakhmut continue. Near Grigoriyevka and Bogdanovka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions. Affected by enemy shelling were Rozdolivka, Vasukivka, Orikhovo-Vasilivka, Novomarkove, Grigoriyevka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, White Mountain, Dilievka, Zalizne, North and South as well as New York in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivsky axis, during the past day, the enemy conducted offensive actions near Novokalinovo, Stepovoye, Pervomayskoye and Nevelskoye but was unsuccessful. Shelled populated areas of Novokalinove, Stepovoe, Avdiyivka, Tonenne, Pervomayske, Nevelske in Donetsk region as well as many others.

On the Mariinsky axis, during the past day, enemy attacks were repelled near Mariinka. Once again affected by enemy shelling were Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, Victory and Novomikhailovka in Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsky axis, during the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Vuhledar. Also shelled were Prechistivka, Novoukrayinka, Zolotaya Niva and Velika Nova Sylka in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson axes, the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations. During the past day, conducted mine and artillery shelling of populated areas. Among them — Olhyvskoye, Pavlivka, Malynivka, Hulyaypole, Hulyaypoliske, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka and Novoandriyivka in Zaporizhzhya region as well as Antonivka in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. Thus, on April 17 this year from temporarily occupied Luhansk region towards the populated area of Urazovo in Belgorod region, the enemy attempted to carry out medical evacuation. For transporting wounded occupants, 14 cargo vehicles were used. During an attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine into Russian territory for some reason the Russian side did not allow the military column and turned it back. It is known that during the mentioned movement part of the enemy servicemen did not survive due to lack of proper medical assistance. Another part of seriously wounded captives, over 50 people, was transported to a hospital set up on the basis of Troitskaya Central District Hospital.

The aviation of the Armed Forces carried out five strikes against enemy concentration areas during the past day, while subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage on two enemy live force concentration areas, a ZRK complex and another two important military objects.
