President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the International Summit of Cities and Regions in Kyiv and the necessity to protect the Olympic movement from Russian ideological influence.

"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!

Just addressed the Mexican Congress, which is already my second such address to a Latin American region. Thank you to Mexico for its attention to Ukraine and support of our view on international security, the need for broader global unity to protect international law.

Because if the law does not work, the threat to life will only grow. Bandits and aggressors will become even more audacious. We must prevent this from happening.

In fact, it was precisely this that today's talks in Kyiv with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg were about. The defense of Ukraine. The defense of the entire international order based on rules. The defense of life.

We are preparing for the "Rimini" meeting, and Mr. Stoltenberg's position is important. We are also preparing for our active actions at the front — they are inevitable.

And we are preparing for the NATO summit in Vilnius planned for this summer, but its content is already being worked on now. It is precisely at such meetings, in contacts of various levels that we maintain with partners.

Neither most Ukrainians, nor most Europeans, nor most residents of the entire NATO space will understand Alliance leaders if they do not hear a deserved political invitation to Ukraine for membership at the Vilnius summit.

Ukraine has done everything possible to have our application fulfilled.

It is hard even to say whose contribution to European and Euro-Atlantic security is greater than that of our soldiers. Ukrainians and Ukrainian women who are defending freedom with their lives. Thank you to all partners supporting us in this.

Today, the International Summit of Cities and Regions took place in Kyiv. A new format for cooperation between our state and partners.

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Ukraine, which unites central authorities with local leaders, now has an international level. To more actively involve foreign partners in rebuilding in our country, developing the economy and infrastructure in our communities.

I am grateful to everyone who participated in the summit. Representatives from different countries, cities, municipalities. European institutions, Council of Europe, President of the Committee of the Regions of the EU... Over a hundred participants from almost forty countries. Thank you all for your support for Ukraine!

Today I met with Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. It was an honor to present her a special award from Ukraine for the capital of France, the city-rescuer badge.

Paris has become one of the largest centers of strength for Ukraine in Europe — in all senses.

I want to especially highlight the help in protecting our energy. It was in the capital of France that a conference took place, as it is called, "energy Ramstein." Paris accumulated significant support for energy equipment for Ukraine and provides social and humanitarian aid.

Thank you to all French people, all Parisians, President Macron for his constant attention to Ukraine, for leadership. And I especially want to highlight the absolutely principled and resonant position of Paris Mayor regarding protecting the Olympic movement from Russian ideological influence, propaganda.

It is obvious that a state-terrorist will do everything to justify itself through sports or use the international Olympic movement in support of its aggression.

That's why it is important that while the aggression continues, the Russian state has no access to sports and Olympic venues. Particularly to Paris venues — this city will host the 2024 Olympics.

Ms. Mayor of Paris reaffirmed today that she does not see a place for representatives of an aggressor state in Paris while the aggression continues. This is a clear, important signal; thank you for it.

It would be good if such signals were heard at the International Olympic Committee, where unfortunately, personal interests of certain bureaucrats still dominate over Olympic principles.

One more thing.

Today marks the end of the sacred month of Ramadan for Muslims. And it ends again during a full-scale aggression by an evil state against Ukraine and all our people, communities. The bright holiday of Eid al-Fitr deserves entirely different conditions. It deserves peace that we so long for, it deserves victory towards which we are all heading. I believe that God will bless Ukraine with the will for all its territories and all its people.

I wish our Muslim community and all Muslims around the world a peaceful holiday!

Ramazan bayramıñız hayırlı ve mubarek olsun!

Glory to all our soldiers fighting for Ukraine!

Thank you to everyone who is helping!

Glory to Ukraine!"
