The head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team, Luis Cortés, commented on his team’s first victory of 2023. As a reminder, the Ukrainian team won their preparatory friendly match against Estonia (1:0), which marked the start of the blue and yellow team's preparation for official League of Nations games.Ukraine defeated Estonia (1:0).

"It is pleasant to conclude our first training camp in over half a year with a victory. I am very satisfied with the match against Estonia, as the girls applied all the work we did during the last week of training.

We almost didn't give anything to the opponent, played quickly in possession, had good ball control and many opportunities to score. However, the team needs to improve its decision-making skills at the end of attacks. In such matches, we should be scoring more than one goal. A single mistake or a good play by the opposition can negate all our efforts. And in official games, this is unacceptable and could cost us dearly.

The next challenge for Ukraine's national team — the League of Nations draw, which will take place on May 2nd. There we'll face teams at our level, but I am confident that we are ready to play against any European national team. We eagerly await the new UEFA tournament and the team will strive to show its best in upcoming international matches," — said Luis Cortés.

As a reminder, the composition of leagues and rankings before the League of Nations draw will be determined by the current UEFA women's national team ranking. Currently, Ukraine is ranked 22nd in the registry, which predicts their placement in League C.

For participants of the League of Nations in 2023, six game windows are planned: September 20-22 and 23-26, October 25-27 and 28-31, November 29 - December 1, and December 2-5.
