Today's match between the teams of Estonia and Ukraine was the third in their history. In 2012, they met during the qualification for the European Championship — both times, the Ukrainians won (5-0 and 4-1).

In the first half, the blue-and-yellow team controlled the ball and played much sharper than their opponents. On the 15th minute, after a cross by Kozlova, Ovdychuk could have opened the score but missed. The Ukrainians often tried to send the ball behind their opponents' backs, actively seeking options through set pieces.

Towards the end of the half, the guests created several good moments, including Ovdychuk's shot from outside the penalty area that hit the crossbar and Kalinina's attempt to score after a cross from the left flank. However, at the 45th minute, our team finally scored — Ovdychuk took advantage of a pass from deep by Kalinina and outmaneuvered the goalkeeper. 1-0.

After halftime, the picture of the game hardly changed. The Ukrainians continued to create opportunities: Gyrin's dangerous shot after a pass from Romanenko was blocked by opponents, Kozlova's strike from a pass by Korshun went over, and Ovdychuk's central effort forced the goalkeeper into action.

On the 64th minute, Estonians unexpectedly launched a successful counterattack — Merisalu broke through on the left flank, entered the penalty area and shot against the crossbar. After this, the hosts had no more chances, while blue-and-yellow failed to double their lead due to lack of realization. In summary, Luis Cortes' wards took the hill — 1-0.
