The Ukrainian Vera Dyatel became the first person to play in the final tournaments of both European football and futsal championships, UEFA's official website reports.

In the final of Euro 2023 for women's futsal, Ukraine lost to Spain — 1:5. "La Furia Roja" became the third consecutive European champion, while blue and yellow secured historic silver medals for them, in the match for third place Portugal defeated Hungary.

Vera Dyatel, aged 39, participated in the futsal Euro, having also played in the final tournament of the women's football Euro-2009, thus becoming the first on the continent to achieve such an accomplishment.

At the football Euro-2009, Dyatel played in the group stage against the Netherlands (0:2), Denmark (1:2) and Finland (1:0). Then blue and yellow finished last in their quartet. Now Vera has participated in both matches of the final four of the Euro 2023 futsal tournament — against Hungary (2:1) and Spain (1:5).

The newly crowned European silver medalist ended her professional football career in 2019, with her last club being Spanish "Sporting". Now Dyatel plays for the futsal club "Ilves" from Finland.
