The head coach of the Ukrainian women's national futsal team, Oleg Shaytanov, shared his impressions from the draw for the finals of Euro-2023.

"Yesterday, the draw for the final stage of the European Championship took place in Debrecen. In the semi-finals, we will face the hosts of the four-nation tournament—the Hungarian national team. We are expecting two difficult matches against strong opponents who are coached by experienced trainers. As I see it, each team knows one another well.

At this stage where only four teams remain, there can be no weak opponents. We will do everything possible to reach the final. Much will depend on how our players approach the tournament. The finals are a great motivator for every futsal player. Most importantly—this is avoiding injuries," — quotes Oleg Shaytanov the press service of the Ukrainian Futsal Association.

According to the decision of UEFA's Executive Committee, which includes President Andriy Pavelko, Hungary will host the final stage of Euro-2023 for women from March 17 to 19 in Debrecen. The matches among the four teams will take place at "Phoenix Arena" in Debrecen. On the 17th, semi-finals will be held; on the 19th — third-place match and final.

Recall that one of the participants will be the Ukrainian national team. Also advancing to the finals are Spain, Portugal, and Hungary. The draw took place in Debrecen, where it was determined that Ukraine's semi-final opponents would be Hungary.

In the main round of the European Championship qualifier for women's futsal, which took place in Poznan, Poland, blue-and-yellow managed to secure first place in their group. In the first game, Ukraine defeated the Netherlands (5:2), in the second — beat Croatia (5:1), and concluded the mini-tournament with a draw against Poland (1:1). In summary, our team has reached continental prominence for the third time in history.
